This is the ultimate jig for swimming, it is extrmely weedless and loaded with an awesome hook. I have gone a little overboard with it this season, but it has made me a bunch of money and put alot of fish in the boat. There are several trailers that you can use on this jig, my favorites would be the Gambler Fappy Daddy, the Zoom Horny Toad, and the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper. Each one works different with the jig, and must be tried under various conditions for you to decide when you like each one best. Of course the jig works great around docks, like most swim jigs, where this jig excels is around grass! Milfoil, Hydrilla, Peppergrass, Hay grass. The 3/16th is great for buzzing around lily pads. I probably throw the 5/16th the most, opting for the 7/16th when the wind is really blowing, and the 3/16th when I need something subtle, or something to burn around pads. I throw mostly white and shad colored skirts 80% of the time, but black and blue is always good especially on cloudy days and around pads. The Toledo Perch is great a round docks and during the Bream spawn. I mainly fish it just like a spinnerbait, fishing faster or slower depending on what type of cover I am targeting. We have designed this bait so that the jig will not roll over when reeling it. If you have a problem with it rolling or swimming to the side try these tips to help correct the tracking. 1. Check the trailer make sure it is on straight. 2.You may want to cut out a little bit of the weed guard. 3.Just like a crankbait, check the weedguard and make sure it is straight . 4. Even up your skirt. We hope you like our double-barbed trailer keeper, it really helps hold the trailer in place. I want my trailer to stay straight, and that is the idea behind it. Let me know what you think. Sincerely, Chris McCall Developed and tested on Lakes Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend by Brian Branum and Chris McCall, the swim jig and designed to catch fish after fish! |
