Derek Herring

I’m 55 years young and have been addicted to bass fishing since I was 5 years old.  After High School I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where I spent 8 years.  I met and married my wife of 33 years while in the USAF and we have a son and daughter who have blessed us with a grandson and granddaughter.  I fished a lot of bass tournaments when I was stationed in San Antonio back in the 80s and was in the money on many of them.  After leaving the USAF I took a job with Lockheed Martin as Systems Engineer at the Johnson Space Center where I have been for 27 years. After moving to the Houston area I turned more to saltwater fishing as I didn’t know about the great bass fishing in the Bayous and Rivers in this area.  I started back into Bass Fishing hard about 5 years ago and I’m currently in my third year of fishing the Bayou Bassin League Series.  After finding Santone Lures and their awesome jigs and spinnerbaits my tournament fishing has taken off.  So far in the 2015 Fall/Spring Series I have been in the money in 2 of the 3 tournaments and I’m currently in 2nd Place in the Angler of the Year Points.  I am very active on social media where I provide bass fishing tips, produce videos and write fishing reports and tackle reviews.  You can find me on social media at the following links:

Dillon Waters

Growing up in Linden, Texas I was fortunate to be surrounded by unlimited access to fishing spots.  Whether it was one of the many local Linden residents ponds or a trip to Wright Patman, Lake O' the Pines, or Caddo Lake I was always ready to fish.  Fishing had been a mainstay in my life for about 30 of the 35 years I have been alive and it will continue to be a mainstay as long as I live.  Competing in local and regional bass tournaments are what I live for!! I'm always striving to be the best!  I currently reside just north of my hometown in Texarkana, AR and work for Cooper Tire and Rubber Co.    I have been employed with this company for 14 years.

Hookset Brothers

Adam Troy, Martin Montoya and Kody Corrin - The Hookset Brothers are a Wounded Veteran Bass Fishing Team consisting of 3 members who sustained Wounds and Injuries in support of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.  They use the sport of Bass Fishing as a way to cope with the effects of War and have found it therapeutic towards their PTSD Recovery.  They successfully run a program called Fishing For PTSD Recovery™ where they offer free fishing trips to struggling Veterans on some of the local East Texas Lakes.  These trips are not only a way to thank the Solider / Veteran for their sacrifices but hopefully a step towards building a passion for the sport of fishing and creating memories during these trips that the Soldier / Veteran can lean on during the hard moments.  SAVING LIVES ONE CAST AT A TIME.  They competitively bass fish throughout East Texas as a way to challenge themselves but their main focus is Fishing For PTSD Recovery and changing lives one cast at a time.  They also volunteer as Boat Captains for Bullard High School Bass Fishing team as a way to give back to their community and to help mold the future Anglers of our sport...  They're favorite technique is throwing a Santone Swim Jig through flooded grass triggering strikes and slow rolling the Got Five Spinnerbait along the edges.  Favorite colors are Money Perch and a custom Hookset Color they've been testing.

Jared Penton

My name is Jared Penton, I am currently 18 years old an attending college at the University of North Texas. I have been fishing since I was very young, and started bass fishing around the age of 5. I competed in my first bass fishing tournament when I was 8, and have never looked back since. Some of my greatest fishing accomplishments are: 2012 TBF Jr. State Champion, 2014 THSBA Fun N Sun Open Champion, 2014 THSBA AOY Runner Up, and 2015 B.A.S.S. All-American. For 2016 I will be competing for the UNT Bass Fishing Team on both the B.a.s.s. and FLW College Tours with aspirations qualifying to fish either the Forrest Wood Cup or the Bassmaster Classic. Without doubt my favorite Santone Lure is a 3/16oz Piglet Football Shakey Head. It has the best features you could ask for in a spring lock that is not to big or small, and hooks that's light enough to be finesse, but won't bend when you hook into a big one.

Jason Hoffman

Jason Pittman

I grew up in the Central Louisiana area learning to fish landlocked lakes before moving to southeast Louisiana at the age of 13. It was in the brackish marshes that I quickly figured out the tide flow and how it changed the fish and their feeding habits throughout the day. All through high school I was fortunate to have parents that devoted time, energy and money to my passion for the sport and allowed me to chase the dream of competitive bass fishing. Upon finishing high school I set out on a journey and fished the BASS Circuit (invitationals back then) but also stayed true to the grass roots organization called the BASS Federation in the 90's and early 2000's. It has since changed its name to BASS Nation and a highlight back then was me being able to capture a Divisional Tournament win and go on the the world championship. Missing a shot at the Bassmaster Classic by only a few places made the fire burn more for competition. Over the past few years I have been able to enjoy success locally and on the state level by conducting speaking engagements as well as participating in tournaments with my dad Floyd and my son Trenton.

I have been bass fishing since I was 4 years old. I started competing in bass tournaments when I was 12 and have had the passion to learn ever since. I’m thankful for my father and grandfather for getting me into the sport and show me the outdoors. Competing in tournaments has always been a fun challenge; but I love to work with the kids or anyone who is wanting to learn more about fishing. If I can put that smile on their face, and spread the passion of fishing, that means more to me than any check I could earn in fishing.

Let me take a few moments of your time to introduce my ideas, concepts and goals for effectively promoting Bass Fishing in the years to come. With my knowledge of the tournament bass fishing for over 26 years and fishing on a professional level, I have an abundance of knowledge that I will share with you.  The advantages that I offer are respectability, approach-ability and professionalism. Being a successful business owner and a professional bass fisherman and being Exposed to the public in a life saving capacity for over 27 years as a Dallas Fireman  and Paramedic, I have a genuine passion for people with the ability to communicate effectively. I feel that bass fishing can be a great learning tool, by exposing individuals to new ideas, concepts, techniques and beliefs.  Fishing can teach patience, endurance, and promote a positive attitude, besides being a lot of fun.

I have established a working relationship with local newspapers, radio and television appearances through the tournament trail. I have been a guest host on Honeyhole All outdoors Television Show since 2003 with 2 to 3 appearances per year. I am very excited about producing my own fishing show entitled "Back Water Bassin TV Show" which I would like to air by spring of 2016
